After a long wait and a couple of setbacks when our plans had to be postponed due to personal circumstances, “Fighter” finally arrived in Ireland from Cabaka Kennel in Denmark on 2 June 06.
One of the conditions of the Prior Approval Scheme for entry into Ireland is that an animal must be accompanied on the flight, so we were delighted when Marianne Thorsen (Chesamo Samoyeds) who normally handled him in Denmark, offered to accompany him on his flight from Copenhagen.
What a relief & joy it was to finally see our happy, smiling little boy again.
“Fighter” had a very successful puppy career in Denmark taking many top awards and I was thrilled to be present at the Speciality in Silkeborg in September 05 when he won BPIB & Puppy Group 1 under Paul Ornemark and then go on to take BPIS under
Barbka Novak. His greatest achievement as a puppy was when at 8 months old he won BEST PUPPY IN SHOW (out of 116 puppies) at the Samoyed Club of America’s National Speciality in Owensboro, Kentucky in October 2005. Whilst in America he also won Reserve Winners Dog under Mrs Judith Parker at the All Breed show in the Oklahoma Sooner Circuit, beaten only by his father, Multi Ch Cabaka’s Yacker of McCoy who was Denmark’s No 1 dog All breeds in 2005.
This lovely boy has thrilled us with his correct structure, wonderful movement and beautiful head.
He has had some fabulous wins since his arrival and delighted us when on 26 August at the final show of our 2006 circuit he won the final points to take his title in less than 3 months and still only 18 months old. He attended 4 shows on the circuit and took BOB at all 4 as well as 2 x Group 2’s and 1 x Group 3.
His best is yet to come!!!
We feel privileged that he is part of our family while remaining in co-ownership with his breeder Gitte Morell.
